Ripple Parish Hall Management Committee have launched an Appeal to raise an estimated £25,000 to completely replace the Hall's floor. This work is planned for 2016.
Over the past year it has been noted that there has been slight movement in certain areas of the floor. While in no way dangerous, it has proven to be challenging to our Short Mat Bowls players! Subsequent extensive examination has shown the floor joists, installed approximately 100 years ago, are in a poor condition. If we don't address the situation now, in four or five years’ time the Hall could become unusable. Restoration of the floor is not economically viable, and would only be a temporary fix! Complete replacement is required.
The project will also necessitate the removal/replacement of internal walls, moving cupboards, a heater, and rewiring some of the electrical circuits.
Ripple Parish Hall Management Committee will be seeking to obtain Grant support for the project, but will need donations and local fund-raising events to reach the target. All profits from our Autumn Film Programme (commencing on 5th September 2015 with "The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel"), will go towards the Floor Fund.
